Salvador Peralta ​​

 

Salvador Peralta is an emerging Argentine-Australian composer-performer based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. Although a classically-trained guitarist, Peralta has frequently performed on electric guitar, double bass, and vocals in contemporary, folk, and experimental settings.

 

Peralta is also a capable songwriter: he released his second album This Makes Me Comfortable in April of 2024, showcasing a soothing and sympathetic side to his writing in an exploration of grief, gratitude, and dissociation. Peralta is also the lead vocalist and synth player of eccentric and dramatic art-rock outfit Pet Therapy. In 2025, they completed a Bachelor of Music (Honours) at Monash University with an artistic research project on playing cards in indeterminate composition. The resulting collection of text scores can be found across The Solitaire Suite and The Home Entertainment Suite, aiming to facilitate a casual, accessible and open music-making experience.

Peralta has been formally teaching guitar since 2021. Whether he is teaching contemporary electric guitar or classical guitar, he is a firm believer in following long-term strategies. That might be understanding chord theory through the CAGED system, improving sight reading and musicality, and/or building towards performing a difficult piece of music.
