Originally from Saskatchewan, Carol has decades of experience teaching students of all ages and is VIT registered teacher with Bachelor Degrees in Education and Music.
Playing both trumpet and piano, Carol played competitively as a student and shared that passion with eight years spent teaching early childhood education in Victoria, British Columbia. Along with having a love for working with young musicians, introducing adult learners to musical instruments has been also been a joy for Carol that has resulted in positive connections and collaborations.
Carol’s teaching experience also includes classroom teaching in mainstream schools and at a Balwyn special school, teaching students with disabilities.
During her studies, Carol performed with orchestras, concert bands, jazz ensembles, choirs and vocal ensembles. She has continued to perform with community brass bands, jazz ensembles, choirs and even toured with ska/reggae/rock bands across Canada. She is also involved with community outreach groups in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, including the Surrey Hills Community Choir and 'Parents and Carer’s Choir' in Doncaster.
Carol is currently available for piano, trumpet and trombone lessons and looks forward to sharing her wealth of musical knowledge and experience!
